Why People Choose TailGauge
Warning Systems

Whether you are backing up to (or around) obstacles you know are there, or you are in an unfamiliar setting and aren’t sure what’s behind you... either way, you'll be glad you have TailGauge there to assist you. TailGauge systems allow for an easier, more relaxing and safer driving experience.

Why is TailGauge technology so much easier to use? Why are so many people choosing it? What makes it so much better than any other solution?

Driver Backup Warning Systems vs Driver Aids:

Many cars today are equipped with factory installed backup sensor devices. However, most of these provide very limited information and are, at best, only good as backup warning aids, not as driving aids. There is a big difference. TailGauge products are much more useful because they provide detailed information regarding the exact distance between objects and the rear of your vehicle, even if there is more than one object in the vehicle's path. In addition, they help the driver distinguish between moving and stationary objects. Factory systems DO NOT do this. This added information enables you to use far more caution as you back up your vehicle to those items you know are there. But, our systems go even further. TailGauge systems can help you parallel park. And the system can identify telephone poles or traffic signs when you pull up to the curb to let passengers out of the vehicle. The system can help you avoid:

  • Someone else's vehicle

  • The curbside mailbox

  • That shopping cart left in the middle of the parking lot

  • Your kid's toys (or that basketball) left in the driveway

  • Pets and small children

Poor Visibility ("Blind Zones") In Many Newer Model Cars.

Cars (especially SUVs) are getting larger. They are higher off the ground and both wider and longer. Their rear windows are smaller, providing limited visibility, which can make them, frankly, dangerous to drive without special training. In fact, the term "blind spot" - used for many years to describe where the driver could not see from the driver's seat - has today been replaced by the new phrase, "blind zone." For example, in some SUV's, this “blind zone” can extend back 40 feet or more. This means that drivers of these type vehicles might be unable to see a child behind their car for a distance of 40 feet! Due to this very serious problem, and there have been many tragic backup accidents involving children. TailGauge systems can provide the detailed information that can lessen this hazard and save lives as your large vehicle backs up.

Older Drivers:

Let’s face it: as we age we all will find driving somewhat more challenging than in the past. Older drivers will find our backup systems a real help with everyday drving. With the detailed information our systems provide, it is simply easier for anyone to operate a car.

Protecting You Car, Truck or RV From Damage:

It is one thing to use TailGauge products as a driver aid to help prevent accidents as you back up. It is quite another to prevent damage to your  vehicle due to backing into something. If you hit a sign post, you may damage the post, but you will likely do far more extensive damage to your vehicle; and that can get expensive. There is one thing we can comfortably state based on our customer feedback:

Drivers with TailGauge warning systems installed on their vehicles do not seem to get into rear end accidents after our system is installed.

Now, we are not saying that you won't, or can’t, have an accident with our system on your vehicle. Obviously, the TailGauge system only aids the driver as a warning device. However, we have yet to have any customers notify us that they have had a backup accident after having TailGauge installed.
